Autumn wedding season is upon us! Wow we just cant believe how quickly 2011 is going, we’ve been printing a lot of gorgeous letterpress wedding invitations for autumn weddings lately, yet it only feels like yesterday we were busy with our summer brides and grooms! We don’t mind so much though because we love autumn weddings; autumn colours are fabulous (think warm and intimate colours such as rich red, pumpkin orange, golds & bronzes) and we cant wait to see wedding photos from our real brides with the falling leaves and autumn sun creating the perfect backdrop! Today in anticipation of autumn weddings to come we look at our favourite autumn invitation trends.
Autumn hues
One of the trends this autumn is rich autumn hues of reds, browns and yellows being used to create borders, font colour’s and patterns such as those seen in our Fontaine design (below) printed in autumn-inspired geranium and umber inks.

For an autumn wedding with classic style we love our Natalia design (below) with pretty calligraphy and chain-link pattern envelope liner.

Leaf , Floral & Nature Patterns
The association autumn has with reds, oranges and browns comes from the leaves as they change and fall, so we love this trend of incorporating leaf and floral patterns into the wedding invitation and overall wedding theme. This can be as simple as using a small leaf motif to separate your ceremony and reception details like that in our Walden design below.

Or as elaborate as using a floral border that frames your text as shown in our Chapin & Enya designs below
